Beschreibungen

This book highlights the advancements in different fields of clinical electrophysiology and gives the reader a good background of the established practices. To tackle such a wide topic, the book focuses on two main aspects: ablation and pacing, discussing the novel energy sources and approaches to rhythm restoration and control; devices and signal processing, highlighting the new available technologies and numerical approaches aiding practice and home medicine. It also presents the reader with selected strategies that could be a paradigm shifts for the field: in situ cell reprogramming, exploiting the newly founded achievements in epigenetic modification of somatic cells; artificial intelligence; cardiac digital twinning, which aims to collect the information from imaging, mechanics and electrophysiology and condense it into a patient-specific model for personalized treatment.
<div>1. Stereotactic radio ablation for treatment of ventricular tachycardia.-&nbsp;2. Pulsed Field Ablation for the Interventional Treatment of Cardiac Arrhythmias.-&nbsp;3. High-power short-duration radiofrequency ablation of atrial fibrillation.-&nbsp;4. Cardiac contractility modulation as a novel therapy for patients with heart failure.-&nbsp;5. Machine Learning for Clinical Electrophysiology.- 6. Cardiac Digital Twin Modeling.</div>
<div>Tomasz Jadczyk works as Assistant Professor at the<b> </b>Department of Cardiology and Structural Heart Diseases, Medical University of Silesia, Katowice, Poland and postdoctoral researcher at the Interventional Cardiac Electrophysiology Group, International Clinical Research Center, St Anne's University Hospital Brno, Brno, Czech Republic. His scientific interests focus on the application of novel technologies in the field of experimental and clinical electrophysiology. He is a research specialist for electro-mechanical assessment of left ventricular rotation mechanisms. Since 2020 he coordinates stereotactic radioablation program at the Medical University of Silesia.</div><div><br></div><div>Guido Caluori has obtained hid PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Genova, Italy, in 2016. From 2016 to 2020 he has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Interventional Cardiac Electrophysiology group of FNUSA-ICRC in Brno, Czech Republic. From 2016 to 2019 he was also researchspecialist for atomic force microscopy, mechanobiology and cellular cardiac models at the Nanobiotechnology group at CEITEC, Brno. Since 2020 he is postdoctoral researcher at the Bioenergetics team at IHU Liryc, Bordeaux (France). He has a 5-year publication record in the fields of thermal and non-thermal ablation, in vitro electromechanical systems for cardiac models and single cell/organoid mechanobiology.<br><br>Axel Loewe works as Assistant Professor at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany, where he heads the Computational Cardiac Modelling group. His main research interests are computational models of cardiac electrophysiology and biomechanics. Besides development of models, their application to address unmet clinical needs particularly in the fields of heart rhythm disorders and cardiomyopathy are in the focus of the group’s research. Axel studied Electrical Engineering and Information Technology in Karlsruhe and Stockholm and obtained his PhD in Biomedical Engineering in 2016.<br></div><div><br></div><div>Krzysztof S. Golba is a Full Professor and Head of the Department of Electrocardiology and Heart Failure, Medical University of Silesia.
