<p>Dr. Berrin Gunaydin – a professor at Department of Anesthesiology, Gazi University School of Medicine in Ankara – &nbsp;is the Chairman of the Obstetric Anesthesia Subcommittee and the Vice Co-ordinator of Obstetric Anesthesia Education organized by Continuing European Education in Anesthesiology (CEEA) in collaboration with Turkish Society of Anesthesiology & Reanimation (TSAR). She and her trainees have recently received awards at Euroanaesthesia and TSAR in 2017. She was a member of the National Society of Regional Anesthesiology in addition to her ESA and American Society of Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology (SOAP) memberships.&nbsp;Dr. Gunaydin received the SOAP free-paper award at the residents’ forum for the study&nbsp;“Intrathecal hyperbaric or isobaric bupivacaine and ropivacaine with fentanyl for elective caesarean section”.&nbsp;&nbsp;She has been invited as a speaker or instructor to many national and international meetings organized by national anesthesiology societies as well as international world congresses or forums.</p>

<p>Dr. Gunaydin has been the associate editor of the Turkish Journal of Medical Sciences since 2010. She has authored or co-authored over 60 articles indexed in Pubmed and Scopus in addition to over than 40 published articles in national peer-reviewed journals.&nbsp;She has translated&nbsp;a website devoted to pain relief options during childbirth&nbsp;&nbsp;and the “Easy Labor” book into Turkish. She was the co-editor for the translation of the Clinical Anesthesia Textbook written by Barash, Cullen, Stoelting, Cahalan and Stock into Turkish in 2012. She also wrote chapters for Turkish Textbook of Anesthesia (2012 and 2013).&nbsp;She has been tutor for problem-based learning discussions and for rational pharmacotherapy education at the Gazi University School of Medicine since 2006. Dr. Gunaydin recent work has focused on liposomal bupivacaine in vitro and in vivo. She published studies entitled&nbsp;<b>“</b>The Release Patterns of Liposomal Bupivacaine in the Artificial Cerebrospinal Fluid” and “Controlled release patterns of liposomal bupivacaine after neuraxial administration in rats” in 2013 and 2014, respectively.</p>

<p>Dr. Samina Ismail is holding a position of Professor at the Aga Khan University Karachi, Pakistan. She is a fellow of the College of Physicians & Surgeon of Pakistan and did her fellowship in clinical anaesthesia from Mount Sinai University Hospital Toronto. She has started the first Obstetric Anesthesia Fellowship in Pakistan in the year 2012 and is the founding director of the fellowship program. She has held number of leadership positions in her University including clinical director obstetric anaesthesia services, director of the research cell of anesthesia department , director residency program and chair anesthesia research committee.</p><p>&nbsp;</p>Dr. Ismail has been involved in educational activities in different roles and has received the “best teacher award” from her University.She is an examiner in the College of Surgeon and Physicians Pakistan and is also the supervisor of the post graduate trainees .&nbsp; Dr. Ismail has conducted several international and national workshops on various topics . She is involved with evidence-based medicine (EBM) training for both undergraduate and postgraduate&nbsp; trainees&nbsp; and has also delivered lectures and conducted workshops for nursing staff and technician .<p></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p> Dr Ismail is involved in number of research projects and her main research interests are obstetric anesthesia, regional anesthesia and pain management. She has number of&nbsp; book chapters and scientific publication in national and international journals.&nbsp; She has also received grants from both national and international agencies including university research grants, International Anesthesia Society of Pain (IASP) and Fogarty International. She has been the editor of the Journal of Anaesthesia, Pain & Intensive Care and is the reviewer for number of national and international journals.She has represented her university and Pakistan on number of national and international forums as invited speakers .Dr. Ismail is actively involved in number of national and international anaesthesia societies and has also assumed the position of the President of the Pakistan Society of Anesthesiologist .<br></p><p></p>
